Professor Richard Halliwell MA VetMB PhD DECVD MRCVS
Professor Halliwell has had a very distinguished career. He received both his veterinary degree and PhD from the University of Cambridge. He spent five years in small animal practice and the remainder of his career has been spent in academia – at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Florida, and latterly the University of Edinburgh. He served as Dean for six years, and is now a Professor Emeritus.
Richard has served as President of both the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Dermatology, the World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology Association and the RCVS. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers on dermatology and clinical immunology. Richard continues to teach and is currently part-time Professor at St Georges Veterinary School in Grenada, acts as a consultant to a number of veterinary companies and is actively involved in European, American and World Veterinary Dermatology events.
